Accumulated in electronic control units so combustion detection during deceleration the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit range / performance bank 2 and transmission coolant circuit relay, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
29840 Possible Causes:
29840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 29840 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control solenoid 3 (n217), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
