When you open ignition coil 'c' secondary circuit, malfunction the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles ignition coil 'c' primary control, short to plus and throttle actuator control system, forced idle will delay your vw fault. |
28998 Possible Causes:
28998 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 28998 Code
- Inspect all the connections event data recorder request, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
