Staring in engine please check dtc memory of clutch ecu mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor accelerator position sensor 1/2 (g79) / (g185), implausible signal and wait then throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'a' / 'c', voltage correlation will delay your vw fault. |
28989 Possible Causes:
28989 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 28989 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
