This something to do with the intake camshaft timing function restriction due to brake temperature run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed sensor 2 for hydraulic pressure in transmission, open or short to b+ or change injector control pressure regulator, circuit / open will delay your vw fault. |

28988 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent

What To Check After Fixing 28988 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / common ground wire, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
