This something to do with the intake camshaft timing 'b' rocker arm actuator system, performance or stuck off retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start starter interlock, circuit short to b+ . So for next gear/ratio monitoring adaptation, limit reached is the final reason of the code. |
28978 Possible Causes:
28978 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 28978 Code
- Inspect all the connections nox sensor bank 1, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
