28901 Description And Summary :

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing bank 1, cam shaft position sensor, discharge opening (g300), interruption / short-circuit to b+ It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!) and intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit bank 2 will delay your vw fault.

28901 Possible Causes:

28901 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
  • Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
  • Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 28901 Code

  • Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'b' primary control, short to plus
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
