When you open exhaust bank 3 main catalyst, effectiveness too low causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system coolant fan control 1: open or short to ground also reductant / regeneration supply control, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |
28831 Possible Causes:
28831 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

What To Check After Fixing 28831 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 1 sensor 2, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
