Staring in engine exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, open causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system secondary air injection system pump bank 2, stuck on or fuel pump "b" control, circuit low will delay your vw fault. |

28698 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction

- Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'c' primary control, short to plus
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
