This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit high bank 1 the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles supply voltage for fuel injector group a, short to ground or fuel injection valve 1 (n366), open circuit is the final reason of the code. |

28686 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 28686 Code
- Inspect all the connections supply voltage for fuel injector group b, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
