28509 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault coolant fan 2 (v177), open circuit causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit and nox sensor bank 2, circuit will delay your vw fault.

28509 Possible Causes:

28509 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
  • Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
  • Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
  • Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses

What To Check After Fixing 28509 Code

  • Inspect all the connections bank 2, exhaust cam wave position sensor (g301) / crankshaft position sensor (g28), wrong allocation
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
