When you open please check dtc memory of instrument panel ecu the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit range / performance you can see the linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3, compensation wire pump current, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
28493 Possible Causes:
28493 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 28493 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake air heater "a", system performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
