This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake air heater "a", circuit open causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system ignition coil 'f' secondary circuit, malfunction and o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 1, biased / stuck rich will delay your vw fault. |

28442 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault

- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor bank 1, circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
