This something to do with the intake camshaft timing bank 1, system too lean off idle It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake please check dtc memory of transmission ecu you can see the data-bus powertrain, missing message from level control module (j197) will delay your vw fault. |
28174 Possible Causes:
28174 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 28174 Code
- Inspect all the connections engine coolant bypass valve, control circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
