Diameter in engine hydraulic actuator position sender (g302), no / incorrect basic setting/adaptation run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 3, biased / stuck lean you can see the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'b', circuit intermittent / erratic is the final reason of the code. |

28040 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 28040 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel injection valve 2 (n367), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
