196 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault 'b' rocker arm actuator system, performance or stuck off mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor steering angle signal, error message from steering angle sensor also power supply voltage terminal 15, open circuit will delay your vw fault. |
196 Possible Causes:
196 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 196 Code
- Inspect all the connections injector cylinder 14 (n391), circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
