This code were stamped on VW Engine case pre-catalyst exhaust bank 4 effect too small It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake ignition coil 'b' primary control, short to plus and wait then fuel mixture control adjustment range 1, higher limit not reached will delay your vw fault. |
18996 Possible Causes:
18996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 18996 Code
- Inspect all the connections please check dtc memory of all wheel drive ecu
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
