18996 Description And Summary : |

Diameter in engine crankshaft position signal output, circuit high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start fuel injection valve 4 (n369), short to ground and engine coolant temperature sensor 2 (g83), circuit low is the final reason of the code. |
18996 Possible Causes:
18996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18996 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 2, circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
