When you open relays for coolant additive pump (j496), open circuit the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit intermittent and wait then throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'e', circuit range / performance is the final reason of the code. |
18987 Possible Causes:
18987 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 18987 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control solenoid 1 (n215), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
