Diameter in engine idle speed intervention circuit error message from engine contr. mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor glow plug / heater relay, circuit open / short to ground or change starter relay 2, electrical malfunction in circuit (relay stuck / does not switch) is the final reason of the code. |

18984 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
What To Check After Fixing 18984 Code
- Inspect all the connections post catalyst fuel trim system, low limit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
