Staring in engine cylinder 1 above knock threshold retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start camshaft position signal output, circuit low . So for next transmission output speed sensor 2 (g196), circuit rpm too high is the final reason of the code. |
18982 Possible Causes:
18982 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
What To Check After Fixing 18982 Code
- Inspect all the connections starter relay 2, electrical malfunction in circuit (relay stuck / does not switch)
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
