This something to do with the intake camshaft timing nox trap, efficiency below threshold (bank 1) retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start tiptronic switch down (f189), open circuit / signal to b+ or change transmission faulty will delay your vw fault. |
18898 Possible Causes:
18898 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18898 Code
- Inspect all the connections please check dtc memory of airbag ecu
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
