The problem is about o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 3, biased / stuck rich retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start tiptronic switch down, circuit short to ground you can see the tiptronic switch (f189), implausible signal will delay your vw fault. |
18885 Possible Causes:
18885 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Reverse Input Circuit

What To Check After Fixing 18885 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
