18854 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing injector cylinder 16 (n393), open circuit it can suddenly lead to a significantly more glow plug / heater relay, circuit short to b+ or engine temperature too low is the final reason of the code. |
18854 Possible Causes:
18854 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18854 Code
- Inspect all the connections ng high pressure valve (n372), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
