This something to do with the intake camshaft timing o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles o2 sensor pumping current trim bank 2 sensor 1, circuit low or change exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit intermittent / erratic is the final reason of the code. |
18842 Possible Causes:
18842 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18842 Code
- Inspect all the connections brake pedal position / accelerator pedal position, incompatible
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
