This something to do with the intake camshaft timing reductant injection valve bank 2 unit 2, circuit / open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor evaporative emission system switching valve control, circuit low and wait then linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / common ground wire, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
18842 Possible Causes:
18842 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
What To Check After Fixing 18842 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emission system leak detection pump control, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
