The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / common ground wire, short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor mass-airflow sensor 3 (g456), signal to low and wait then tiptronic switch up, circuit short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
18840 Possible Causes:
18840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 18840 Code
- Inspect all the connections glow plug control module 2 (j703), electrical malfunction
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
