This something to do with the intake camshaft timing different wheel speed signals, range / performance It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'b', circuit intermittent / erratic or change evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circuit range / performance is the final reason of the code. |
18696 Possible Causes:
18696 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18696 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, pump current, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
