The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault intake manifold flap; bank 1, stuck open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start engine coolant temperature signal, open / short to b+ . So for next fuel level sensor 2, circuit high voltage is the final reason of the code. |
18589 Possible Causes:
18589 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 18589 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control solenoid 2 (n216), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
