This something to do with the intake camshaft timing mass-airflow sensor 3 (g456), signal to low causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system please check dtc memory of air condition ecu you can see the exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 5, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |
18497 Possible Causes:
18497 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 18497 Code
- Inspect all the connections shift up/down wire, open / short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
