The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault cylinder 5 above knock threshold the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles ecm/pcm power relay sense, circuit intermittent also secondary air injection pump-d-relay (j705), circuit open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
18431 Possible Causes:
18431 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18431 Code
- Inspect all the connections valve for starting with empty tank-nxxx, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
