Staring in engine diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'b', circuit intermittent / erratic mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at upper limit and wait then signal for back-up lights, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
18406 Possible Causes:
18406 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
What To Check After Fixing 18406 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 3 oxygen sensor correction behind catalyst, lean control limit exceeded
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
