When you open ignition coil 'b' secondary circuit, malfunction it can suddenly lead to a significantly more linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / pump current, short to ground and secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor bank 1, circuit range / performance will delay your vw fault. |
18404 Possible Causes:
18404 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18404 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd' / 'f', voltage correlation
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
