The problem is about transmission output speed sensor 2 (g196), circuit range / performance causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system pressure control solenoid 1 (n215), short to b+ or change powertrain data bus, missing message from instrument cluster is the final reason of the code. |
18398 Possible Causes:
18398 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault

What To Check After Fixing 18398 Code
- Inspect all the connections torque management feedback signal "b", low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
