Staring in engine throttle actuator control system, sudden high air flow detected causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system exhaust bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor signal, implausibly rich or secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
18396 Possible Causes:
18396 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 18396 Code
- Inspect all the connections injection pump, fuel calibration not learned
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
