When you open outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), open to b+ the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit open circuit or electronic control module incorrect coding is the final reason of the code. |
18298 Possible Causes:
18298 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 18298 Code
- Inspect all the connections ecm/pcm power input, signal low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
