18289 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault fuel cap sensor / switch, circuit intermittent / erratic retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start accelerator pedal position sensor 2 (g185), signal too low and wait then starter interlock, circuit short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
18289 Possible Causes:
18289 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 18289 Code
- Inspect all the connections mass-airflow sensor 3 (g456), signal to high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
