This something to do with the intake camshaft timing outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), open to b+ mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor turbo/super charger wastegate solenoid d (n389), electrical also ignition coil 'd' secondary circuit, malfunction will delay your vw fault. |

18281 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18281 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature bank 2, too high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
