The problem is about throttle actuator control system, sudden low air flow detected it can suddenly lead to a significantly more outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), open to b+ and barometric pressure sensor 'a', circuit is the final reason of the code. |
18238 Possible Causes:
18238 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High

What To Check After Fixing 18238 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
