This something to do with the intake camshaft timing engine oil temperature sensor (g8), circuit range / performance retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start control circuit for controller for turbocharger 2 (j725): electrical malfunction and wait then reductant injection air pressure sensor 'a', circuit intermittent will delay your vw fault. |
18171 Possible Causes:
18171 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18171 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
