The problem is about glow plug/heater relay 2 circuit, short to b+ causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system diesel particulate filter regeneration frequency also data-bus powertrain, missing message from engine controller (ecu) is the final reason of the code. |
18171 Possible Causes:
18171 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 18171 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake flap motor 2 (v275), open or short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
