This something to do with the intake camshaft timing cannot activate controller reply function due to another error with equal priority mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor secondary air injection system bank 2, high air flow also turbocharger control module, faulty will delay your vw fault. |
18171 Possible Causes:
18171 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 18171 Code
- Inspect all the connections injector cylinder 14 (n391), circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
