18164 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing air cleaner inlet control, circuit / open it can suddenly lead to a significantly more exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit low and motor for intake manifold flap (v157), no signal is the final reason of the code. |
18164 Possible Causes:
18164 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18164 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition switch run/start position, circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
