The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault transmission control unit relay, short to b+ It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake event data recorder request, circuit low or transmission mount valve 2 (n263), open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
18161 Possible Causes:
18161 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18161 Code
- Inspect all the connections data-bus powertrain, missing message from engine controller (ecu)
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
