This something to do with the intake camshaft timing diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'b', circuit low to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so pressure sensor for brake boost (g294), short to plus or control unit error programming error will delay your vw fault. |
18042 Possible Causes:
18042 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 18042 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, pump current, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
