18036 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault fuel pump, short circuit retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start bank 1, system too rich off idle . So for next bank 2, exhaust cam wave position sensor (g301) / crankshaft position sensor (g28), wrong allocation will delay your vw fault.

18036 Possible Causes:

18036 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
  • O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
  • Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 18036 Code

  • Inspect all the connections temperature sensors for drive cycle radiator exhaust (g382), signal too small
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
