Staring in engine exhaust bank 4, sensor 1, electrical error in the electric circuit causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit intermittent . So for next engine torque reduction, open / short to ground will delay your vw fault. |

18012 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 1 sensor 2, circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
