This something to do with the intake camshaft timing mass-airflow sensor 4 (g457), signal to high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start nox sensor heater control bank 2, circuit high also secondary air injection valve 3 (n384), circuit short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
17983 Possible Causes:
17983 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17983 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'e' secondary circuit, malfunction
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
