17980 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing valve for pump - jet, cylinder 4 (n243), electrical malfunction run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 1, biased / stuck lean and wait then relays for large amount of heat (j360), disconnected or short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
17980 Possible Causes:
17980 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
What To Check After Fixing 17980 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'e', circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
