Staring in engine engine- / transmission control modules, versions do not match causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system intake manifold flap; bank 2, stuck open and exhaust gas recirculation flow 2, insufficient detected will delay your vw fault. |

17979 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction

- Inspect all the connections fuel cap sensor / switch, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
