This something to do with the intake camshaft timing coolant degassing valve, control circuit / open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start intake manifold runner control, circuit low bank 1 . So for next pressure control solenoid 5 (n233) open / short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
17944 Possible Causes:
17944 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 17944 Code
- Inspect all the connections starter activation, return message terminal 50, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
