The problem is about engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit high to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so engine coolant temperature signal, open / short to b+ you can see the engine coolant temperature signal, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |

17938 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low

- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17938 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
