This something to do with the intake camshaft timing please check coding of ecus in data bus powertrain mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor generator lamp/l-terminal, circuit low or reductant injection valve bank 1 unit 1, circuit low is the final reason of the code. |
17861 Possible Causes:
17861 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 17861 Code
- Inspect all the connections reservoir for additive for particle filter, empty
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
