178 Description And Summary : |

This code were stamped on VW Engine case data bus powertrain, missing message from instruments panel ecu retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start data bus powertrain, no communication and exhaust bank 1/2 lambda probes before kat exchanges is the final reason of the code. |
178 Possible Causes:
178 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 178 Code
- Inspect all the connections leak in air intake system
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
