This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle angle signal stuck on the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust bank 4, sensor 2, signal too slowly you can see the nox sensor bank 2, circuit range / performance is the final reason of the code. |
178 Possible Causes:
178 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 178 Code
- Inspect all the connections pre-catalyst exhaust bank 3 effect too small
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
