17796 Description And Summary :

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing mil call-up circuit / transmission control module, short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor low pressure fuel sensor sensor (g410), implausible signal . So for next tiptronic switch down (f189), open circuit / signal to b+ will delay your vw fault.

17796 Possible Causes:

17796 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
  • Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
  • Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction

  • Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 17796 Code

  • Inspect all the connections turbocharger 2 control module (j725), high temperature
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
